MCM Snapbacks

A huge shipment of cognac MCM snapback hats has just arrived at F as in Frank Warehouse. This is one of the last known stocks of these hats on the planet. MCM was founded in 1976 in Munich Germany specializing in luxury leather goods, apparel and footwear. Even from the early days MCM was seen as a status symbol for the up and coming members of society. It is in the league of you big name designers like Louis Vuitton and Chanel. MCM didn't stay in Munich for long as it fast became a global luxury brand with stores in cities all across the world including Berlin, London, New York, Shanghai and Seoul. The logo is beribboned laurel leaves, paying homage to King Ludwig the first, and representing the Greek symbol for victory. [gallery] MCM is in the middle of a resurgence into the media and some attribute it's success to Taz Arnold (TISA) and his MCM collaborations mixing modern fashion and vintage flavour. Taz has long been pushing the boundaries of fashion with his eclectic mix of designer brands, vintage pieces and next level accessories. The Cognac color way, as seen here on Taz Arnold's MCM jacket, is the brands mainstay but the MCM monogram can be found in white with black, white with red, black with white, yellow with white, and red with white. For more about Taz, check out some pictures from when we launched TISA in our Toronto FAIF location here. Another designer who is putting out dope garments utilizing vintage MCM fabrics is our good friend Yuske Kamiya over at Mookee by Yuske with re-interpretations of MCM patterns into new designs. Yuske has been working closely with Taz for years and the two of them have just finished up a tour of Japan to promote their new projects. Keep you're eye on Mookee and stay tuned for updates on a Mookee X FAIF collaboration coming soon. Yuske Kamiya MCM Collection from MOOKEE by Yuske on Vimeo. SHOP MCM HERE .
